Lewis Hamilton shares ‘most decorated’ F1 podium alongside Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso at Canadian Grand Prix

Almost all the F1 fans worldwide would be over the moon if they could witness a world champion in the flesh. As Lewis Hamilton called it, the Canadian GP audience got themselves a treat as they witnessed one of the most iconic podium finishes ever. 

Max Verstappen finished first, Fernando Alonso came second, and Lewis Hamilton clutched a third-place finish ahead of Charles Leclerc in the Canadian GP. The stars all aligned as Adrian Newey was the Constructor representing who came to receive the trophy from Redbull’s side. 

There are 7 titles for Lewis Hamilton, 2 for Fernando Alonso, 2 for Max Verstappen and 23 for Adrian Newey (11 Driver, 12 Constructor). Making it a total of 34 titles in a single podium finish.

As Lewis Hamilton clinched his 4th podium finish of the season, he commented about the legends beside him.

“It’s a privilege to be up here with these two who have done incredible in their careers, and this is quite an iconic top three. I don’t know if there’s been a top three like this. I don’t believe there has been.”

“So hopefully, there’ll be more and, as Fernando said, there’s a lot of respect between us as we can race so closely and trust one another. So I’m really hoping we have more of a level playing field in our cars at some stage, and then we’ll have a much more exciting race.”

We saw Lewis Hamilton applauding the podium, but it won’t be taken very well behind the scenes in the Formula One headquarters. 

From instances of being left out in the wall of fame or receiving the brunt end of the jewelry ban last year, Lewis Hamilton has always been in the crosshairs of the F1 officials. 

Max Verstappen wins back-to-back Canadian Grand Prix

The Dutch star is on cruise control as he swiftly moves from country to country and podium to podium. Max had secured the win in the previous edition of Canadian Grandprix along with Carlos Sainz (2nd) and Lewis Hamilton (3rd). 

Verstappen extended his lead by 69 points from the trailing Sergio Perez in the same machinery in the driver standings.

As we inch away from each race in the calendar, the sport is coughing up more and more legends as we speak. Young drivers like Piastri or Ocon are putting up a great show in their substandard cars. As time passes, we would see more iconic podium finishes with fresher’s faces.
