Amidst the disputed relationship between the Les Bleus captain and PSG, Lionel Messi took one final jab at his former club, offering advice to Mbappe to seek out a fresh and exhilarating challenge.
According to Defensa Central, the Argentine maestro prefers Mbappe to join Barcelona but endorsed his decision to join the Spanish giants Real Madrid. Messi said “I prefer that you go to Barca. But if you want to go to Madrid, do it, you deserve a real winning project.”

After having come close to landing Kylian Mbappe at the Bernabeu for the past few years, it looks like the Los Blancos are going to have another shot at it. Mbappe has publicly reiterated his desire to play for PSG next season. The French captain told Gazzetta the Sport “I didn’t ask to leave PSG or to join Real Madrid. I just told the club that I won’t activate the option to extend the contract until June 2025. We never discussed a new deal with PSG but I’m happy to stay here next season.”

PSG’s position is daylight clear on their number 7 which is to sign a new deal or he could be available in the market. Mbappe sent a letter to the PSG hierarchy which eluded on the fact of him not going to extend his contract beyond June 2024.
