Lionel Messi, Neymar apologize to PSG fans after PSG’s disappointing 1-0 defeat vs Bayern Munich in UEFA Champion League round of 16

Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Paris Saint Germain team issued an apology to the fans after their shocking performance at the Parc Des Princes against Bayern Munich after the clash in the UCL round of 16.

PSG was too casual in the game as they looked to sit deep on their own half and looked for a counterattack during the whole game and suffered a horrendous defeat.

Bayern Munich picked up the pace ever since the game got going and clearly the better team on the pitch as Messi and Neymar failed to make any impact on the match.

PSG was seen out of ideas with the ball under their feet as the French Champion didn’t create many chances for themselves and had zero attempts on Bayern’s goal at the half time.

16-year-old Warren Zaïre-Emery, who was born in 2006, is the youngest PSG player in history to start a Champions League match and he was thrown into action against the mighty Bayern Munich.

PSG tweaked the formation at the start of the second half after Hakimi was withdrawn but conceded immediately after Kingsley Coman scored, following a mistake from PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

However, the arrival of Mbappe in the 57th minute certainly made a difference as he scored twice but both goals were ruled out due to offside and PSG never recovered from the initial setback.

After the game, PSG players walked toward their home crowd and asked for forgiveness due to their lack of bravery and performance on the pitch as they looked very ashamed of themselves.

While the management did not issue a formal apology, they did acknowledge the impact that the defeat had on their fans and pledged to work harder to achieve better results in the future.

PSG will visit the Allez Arena on March 9 for the second Leg as Christophe Galtier will be hoping to emulate this dismal performance into a brighter one and pull off a victory.
