The NFL rules are getting stricter, and now players can face suspensions even before the new season starts. The league closely monitors every player’s actions, even during the offseason, and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Drake Stoops has received an early suspension.
The Los Angeles Rams have announced the suspension of wide receiver Drake Stoops for the first two games of the 2025 NFL season. Due to his violation of the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy, he will not receive payment for Weeks 1 and 2.
Stoops hasn’t played in a regular-season NFL game yet. He joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2024 after playing at Oklahoma but spent the whole season on the practice squad. Now, just as he’s trying to make the team, this setback hits him hard.

The suspension means Stoops will miss important chances to play early in the season, making it harder for him to prove himself and earn a spot on the team. The suspension news was already heartbreaking for the 25-year-old. Additionally, the Los Angeles Rams fans have now received yet another shocking and sad update.
Los Angeles Rams part ways with Cooper Kupp after 8 seasons
The Los Angeles Rams have decided to let go of their star wide receiver, Cooper Kupp. If they can’t find a trade partner by March 12, they will release him. Kupp has been a key player for the Rams since being drafted eight years ago.

One big reason for this decision is his contract. Kupp is set to get a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 17. By cutting him before that date, the Rams can save $15 million in cap space.
This release will also help them to focus on their new players, including wide receiver Davante Adams, who just signed a two-year deal.
