Though Dallas won the game, losing Doncic could have been a major setback for the team. Luckily, he returned in the second quarter, easing everyone’s worries.
Luka Doncic pushed through an injury to help the Mavericks beat the Timberwolves 120-114 in their last game. He scored 24 points, making 10 out of 27 shots. Late in the game, he hit a three-pointer that put the Mavs up by eight, finishing with 11 points in the fourth quarter.
With just over a minute left in the second quarter, he first seemed seriously hurt and had to leave the court. Doncic made an inspiring return in the second half. Describing the injury, Doncic said, “I stopped and somebody hit me from behind, and my knee went forward. It was not a good feeling.”
Luka Doncic opens up about Klay Thompson
In the post-game press conference, Luka Doncic shared his thoughts on his new teammate, Klay Thompson, after their strong third win of the season. He explained that playing with Klay and Irving makes the game feel more meaningful and easier for him.
Doncic said, “We have me, Klay, Kai. Those two guys, anybody can take a shot. Sometimes they’re going to double us if somebody’s hot and in this situation, they doubled Kai, so I got the opportunity to shoot it.”
