Doncic’s heroics not enough as T-Wolves halt Mavs win streak
On Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks suffered a 119-101 home loss to the top-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves despite 39 points from Luka Doncic. The Slovenian sensation shot 15 of 27 from the field in an entertaining match against Minnesota, the top team in the Western Conference, to extend his run of consecutive 30-point games to nine.

Only nine points were scored by Anthony Edwards. Dallas was left cursing their incapacity to convert three-pointers. Tim Hardaway Jr. made 0 of 7 shots, Grant Williams made 1 of 7, and Doncic only made 2 of 7 from beyond the arc.
Luka Doncic sets the record straight on potential Mavs exit rumor
The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a disastrous season where they missed the NBA Playoffs with Luka Doncic averaging over 32 points last season. In a conversation with Rachel Nichols, Doncic, 24, put an end to rumors that he might leave the Mavs if they don’t make enough progress in their rebuilding around him.
After the Mavericks missed the playoffs last year, we heard a LOT of talk that the team was on the clock for Luka to starting hinting about a trade, the way Giannis did last summer. But on this week's Headliners, Luka tells me just how good he feels about his future in Dallas: pic.twitter.com/SrAYmLHhBI

“I’m not sure. I feel great here. They drafted me and I’ve felt like it’s home since day one. I am really happy with where I am at. We made some great moves this offseason. Yeah, I am happy here.”
This season, Doncic is averaging 32.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 9.1 assistsâyet another MVP-caliber campaign. With a 15-9 record thus far this season, the Mavericks appear to be among the better teams in the West. That’s good for fourth in the West at the moment, a spot that few predicted Dallas would occupy before the season began.
