Following a fall and fracture of his hip during a Los Angeles concert, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been admitted to the hospital and will have surgery. When the NBA Hall of Famer got hurt, he was at a show. After being called by paramedics at the unidentified location, the 76-year-old was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre.
Deborah Morales, his business partner, only linked to a statement that was shared on Abdul-Jabbar’s social media and declined to offer any additional updates. “We are all deeply appreciative of all the support for Kareem, especially from the Los Angeles Fire Department who assisted Kareem on site and the amazing medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital who are taking great care of Kareem now.” it said.
During the Los Angeles Lakers’ “Showtime” era in the 1980s, Abdul-Jabbar was a vital member of the team that helped the team win five NBA titles. In addition, he was a six-time NBA MVP, having previously won a title with the Milwaukee Bucks. Prior to being surpassed in February by LeBron James, the 7-foot-2 center was the NBA’s all-time top scorer.
