Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League semifinal clash of Real Madrid vs. Manchester City was full of positives for both teams. Well, apart from one thing. Alfie Haaland, the father of Erling Haaland, was seemingly removed from his seat at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It was a thrilling game of soccer between two of Europe’s best sides. It saw two screamers, the first one from Vinicius Jr., who scored from outside the box in the 36th minute to give Los Blancos the lead at half-time.
Kevin De Bruyne fired from outside the box in a similar manner, putting the ball past his national teammate Thibaut Courtois which equalized the game in the 67th minute. The game ended at a 1-1 draw.
Thousands of Manchester City fans celebrated KDB’s equalizer enthusiastically. Among them was Alfie Haaland, former Man City player and the father of the wonderboy, Erling Haaland. Alfie’s celebration was not well received by the Madridistas, as a video footage surfaced online which shows the Norwegian being escorted away from his seat by the security.

Haaland explained the situation on Twitter
Alfie Haaland gave an insight to the situation on Twitter. In response to a tweet from Sky Sports, Alfie wrote: “Okay, Real Madrid was not happy we were celebrating Kevin De Bruyne’s goal. Other than that, we had to move because Real Madrid fans [were] not happy with 1-1.”
He later added in response to being blamed for throwing peanuts: “Okay. I did not. Not true. We had some good banter with Madrid fans. They were not happy when City scored. Typical. Then we had to move 50 meters away. Nothing more. All happy.”

Despite setting Premier League records this season, Alfie’s son, Erling Haaland, was quite silent on Tuesday’s match. He failed to provide any significant impact to the match, thanks to Antonio Rüdiger marking him excellently.
Real Madrid and Manchester City have all to play for in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal, which will take place on Wednesday, May 17 at the Etihad Stadium.
