Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag drops bold prediction ahead of must-win game against Liverpool

Manchester United have leveled up their body language, to say the least, for their game against fierce rivals Liverpool with growing confidence in the dressing room. Erik ten Hag has claimed that his side will come out victorious at Anfield, something that has not been seen in a very long time in the Premier League.

The struggling Red Devils take a short trip to Merseyside on Sunday, as they hope to climb back into the top four spots in the league table. With talks of his sacking making noise in the background, Ten Hag seems to be unfazed and undaunted by any of it. The United boss has dropped his prediction for the game, something that many fans might question.

Erik ten Hag confident of Man Utd victory

Erik ten Hag looks to be in a good mood ahead of the game against their most bitter rivals. The Manchester United boss recently stated his lack of concern regarding his job after getting support from the board as well as club legend Gary Neville, and now has come out to bang the drums about his confidence in his side’s victory for Sunday’s game at Anfield.

During the pre-match press conference, Ten Hag mentioned his satisfaction with the way United have been playing in the recent games and the training sessions. He said that consistency would get the results and he is confident about it.

The Dutchman stated, “I’ve strong belief I’m going to win and I will prepare the team in that way, that we’re going to win”. He further added, “We have our lows, so high highs and low lows, so we have to as a team get more consistent”.

When did Man Utd last beat Liverpool at Anfield?

Manchester United and Liverpool have been on contrasting runs recently, with United dragging themselves for European spots and Liverpool running away from the pack at the top. However, both the teams are coming back from defeats, although in different settings.

United would be desperate to get a result, not only to keep their top four hopes alive and avenge last season’s 7-0 thrashing, but also to break their duck that has been there since 2016. With their most recent victory coming in January 2016, Manchester United have not won in any of their past eight matches played at Anfield, losing five and drawing three of those matches.

It will be very difficult for United considering their recent streak and the number of absentees for the game. The Red Devils will be without ten first team players through injury, and their Captain Bruno Fernandes through suspension.
