Manchester United forward Antony spotted at airport, expecting to return to England to attend police investigation over alleged assault charges

Antony has been sidelined from the Manchester United squad for the past three weeks. He was granted an indefinite period of absence by the club following a mutual agreement. The 23-year-old had previously withdrawn his name from the squad after serious allegations were made against him.

Following the course of events, the winger had flown back to Brazil, and now Antony has just returned to England to be a part of the investigation by the Greater Manchester Police over the severe allegations made by his former partner Gabriella Cavallin.

Antony spotted at the airport prior to his return to England

Antony had been in his home country, Brazil, since reporting for international duty with the Brazilian national team, but he was subsequently excluded from the national team squad after the emergence of news of the allegations.

Manchester United’s forward has now returned to England as he prepares to appear in front of police authorities over allegations of physical violence against his former girlfriend.

The Brazilian winger had been previously granted a leave of absence by the club and arrived in Manchester on Tuesday night from Brazil’s Sao Paulo airport. He was spotted at Manchester Airport after flying in from Spain.

The former Ajax winger has been accused by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriella Cavallin, of attacking her in a Manchester hotel early this year in January.

Man United also addressed the serious allegations against their player and immediately released an official statement regarding the issue.

Antony made four league appearances for the Red Devils this season, and his last one came against Arsenal at the Emirates before taking a leave of absence to deal with the legal allegations against him.

Update on Antony’s alleged assault case

A few weeks ago Antony also came out in a TV interview, denying all the accusations made against him. He reiterated his innocence, consistently maintaining that he was innocent and claiming that all his encounters with women were consensual.

The winger is currently being investigated by both Sao Paulo and Greater Manchester police. He is likely to meet with the police in the coming days to deny the claims made by his former lover, Gabriella Cavallin.

Antony reportedly will hand over his phone to the Police for further investigation and is ready to cooperate with the authorities during questioning regarding the alleged charges against him.
