Manchester United will be on the transfer market this summer to strengthen their attack. According to a report from goal, the Reds have identified 2022 World Cup winner Paulo Dybala as a potential target.
United boss Erik Ten Hag is aiming to bring the Reds back to the top, potentially challenging for as many titles next season as possible. Following Cristiano Ronaldo‘s controversial contract termination and Anthony Martial’s injury, the Dutchman has been on the market in the January transfer window for a striker.
United managed to strike a loan deal with Dutchman Wout Weghorst from Championship table-toppers Burnley. Wout had a successful first half of the 2022-23 season with Besiktas. So far, his performance for Manchester United has been underwhelming.
How is Paulo Dybala performing this season?
Paulo Dybala joined AS Roma on a free transfer after his contract with Juventus expired in 2022. He spent seven years in Turin, where he emerged as a youngster and has been very successful. He even played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and possesses every quality to be a versatile attacker.
Dybala’s form with AS Roma has been impressive as well. He has managed 12 goals and 8 assists so far for Roma across all competitions. He is a versatile attacker that can play in different positions, namely as a striker, a central attacking midfielder, and even on the wing.
On top of that, Paulo was in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup winning squad. He didn’t get much game time due to the coach, Lionel Scaloni, preferring Lisandro Martinez and Julian Alvarez over him. He was substituted in the dying minutes of the final, and he scored a crucial penalty in the penalty shootout.
How much must Manchester United pay?
Manchester United may be looking to activate a release clause in Dybala’s current contract with AS Roma. According to reports, the player can be released from his contract at the end of the season for a fee of around €12 million. This price is a bargain, given all the qualities of the Argentine forward.
🚨 Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in Paulo Dybala, who could be signed for as little as £11m in the summer despite only joining Roma last year.

Despite their attacking situation, Manchester United is currently third in the Premier League, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s superb form and Alejandro Garnacho’s rise to fame. Rashford has now scored in seven consecutive home matches, nearly breaking the record Cristiano Ronaldo set in 2008.
