A deal for man-in-form Serhou Guirassy is not surprising considering Manchester United’s disappointing season, as the Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League and last in their Champions League group. To save the blushes and turn things around in the second half of the season, they will try penetrating the player market again in hope of finding gold.
United are eyeing a move for 27-year-old Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy as they look to bolster their attack going into the business end of the season. Guirassy has been magnificent this season and has already proved predictions regarding his being in demand in the January market, as many clubs line up for his signature.
Manchester United seek Serhou Guirassy deal
Manchester United are looking to bag Guirassy in the winter transfer window by triggering his €17 million release clause, which seems to be an absolute bargain considering his form for Stuttgart this season, as they are in desperate need of a striker that can score in the league, which can amount to better results.
Although United exploited the striker market very recently in the summer by getting Rasmus Hojlund, who is yet to score or assist in the league, they are keeping tabs on the striker market again to provide competition to the Danish and have been linked to other Bundesliga strikers too. Hojlund’s league form has been a concern for United, and it is reported that talks have already started regarding getting Guirassy to Old Trafford.
However, it is expected that securing Guirassy’s signature will not be a cakewalk for United as they will face competition from multiple clubs considering his low-priced release clause.
Serhou Guirassy lights up Bundesliga
Serhou Guirassy has been nothing short of amazing this season, and the interest from multiple top clubs in Europe is absolutely justified. Guirassy is the second highest goal scorer this season behind Harry Kane and the top scorer in the league since the start of last season, bagging 26 goals in 42 matches.
However, this season he has been on a level higher and has netted 16 goals for club and country, scoring 15 in the Bundesliga, and assisting once. Harry Kane had previously held the record for the quickest 15 Bundesliga goals scored, but he broke it this season.
According to reports, Guirassy has attracted interest not only from Manchester United but from a host of Premier League clubs like Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth, as well as clubs outside of England like Roma and AC Milan.
