Martina Navratilova is clearly not a Donald Trump fan. The 18-time grand slam champion was recently savage in her reactions to a social media post featuring the American ex-President and showcased her venomous sensibilities against the self-professed ‘stable genius’.
Not that one would expect the fast food-eating former Apprentice star to make an athlete on the tennis court, but Martina especially found his performances too amateur to consider funny and launched a mini-diatribe against the 77-year-old on social media platform X.
Navratilova dismisses Trump’s tennis performance as pathetic
Way back in 2015, the reality television star and businessman Donald Trump inaugurated a tennis centre at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. He invited then world No. 1 Serena Williams for a showdown on the tennis court as part of the opening ceremony.
The video resurfaced on X when a user compiled a list of clips featuring Donald playing various forms of sports. The first part of the video showed Trump hilariously slamming the tennis ball to all parts of the court against Serena, who one could only hope contained her laughter.
Given the recent developments in Trump’s life, including his impeachment, Martina Navratilova found no reason to share in the laughter and instead attacked Trump in her reply, stating the possible 2024 Republican presidential nominee was a “pathetic athlete”.
It is also noteworthy that Navratilova had made his disdain towards Trump clear in earlier interviews. Featuring on the Late Late show in August this year, Navratilova had called Trump a “threat to the world”.
Clearly, the nine-time Wimbledon champion doesn’t endorse the concept of Trumpism and is part of the ever-growing group of people who find the former US President a nuisance and threat to societal stability.
Martina Navratilova pokes fun at Donald Trump’s reported IQ
Martina Navratilova was far from done with her attacks on Donald Trump. Taking to X again, Martina mocked Trump’s supposed IQ score, calling it not only a good golf score, but one that he could only dream about.
Of course, the reported IQ is still to be officially verified but Martina’s reactions to the Trump mania is a sign that she is taking a stance against the widespread misinformation and hatred being spread across her home country.
Trump is currently undergoing a series of damaging legal woes involving his supposed hiding of official documents after he had left office at the White House. Martina is surely piling on the misery by adding a little input of her own through social media.
Martina Navratilova recently met with patients at the American Cancer Society Hope lodge where she talked about her own struggles with cellular-killing disease, saying that her recent breast and throat cancer diagnosis made her feel vulnerable.
“The possibility is always there. You just have to believe that it’s not going to be for decades. … At the same time, it puts you face-to-face with your mortality, whatever your age is,” she said.
