Cannonier also broke the record of landing the most significant strikes in a single bout in the history of the middleweight division in the UFC as he landed 249 significant strikes. Speaking about this fight, Vettori hurt Cannonier in the first round and it seemed that he is in the driving seat.
However, Killa Gorilla bounced back strongly and won the rest of the rounds and secured a unanimous decision win.
In the end, it was an all-out war where neither fighter took a step behind and showed great courage, and traded a significant amount of blows. Consequently, these two middleweights deserved the Fight of the Night award for their entertaining performance.

The flyweight contender then went on to finish Jimmy in the second round and picked his second win in the promotion.
Another fighter who impressed everyone with his performance was Manuel Torres. The lightweight contender squared off against Nikolas Motta in the main card. In this matchup, Torres landed a stunning elbow to flatline Motta and won the bout via knockout in the first round.
