Mason Greenwood has been on the news for the last few years but always for the wrong reasons. Initially, it was his girlfriend who took to social media to show proof of domestic violence by the player; then, it was the Manchester police who allegedly arrested the player for those accusations; and later on, it was Manchester United themselves who deprived the player of playing for their club, removing him from the senior squad as well.
Recently, the striker was freed of the case going on against him when his girlfriend took back her charges and the player reentered the fray to play football again but Manchester United sent him on loan to Getafe as they didn’t want to play him in their team ever again. On loan, the player has been playing brilliant football but recently, he posted his Instagram story, which caught the eyes of every fan around the world.
Mason Greenwood celebrates girlfriend’s birthday
In his Instagram story, there are two pictures, one of him and his girlfriend, and the other of his girlfriend and their son. In the story, the player wrote with all the love wishing his girlfriend a Happy Birthday, announcing her as the best mum in the world for their son.
It is to be noted that his girlfriend in the picture, Harriet Robson is the same girl who applied domestic violence charges against him. But it seems like the couple has sorted their issues and differences out which has also massively helped the player perform much better on the field.
The posted story shows the amount of love the player has for the mother of his child even though he was accused of domestic violence. Considering that the issues between them are sorted, it reflects the brilliant personality of the player and his wife to show maturity and keep their love for each other and their child above their differences.
Mason Greenwood’s Manchester United future
Even though the issues have been sorted out between the couples, it doesn’t seem like the club is going to give any other chance to the player to play for them again.
Despite having been cleared of all the charges, Manchester United refused to include the player in their squad and told him to find a new club for himself, due to which the player was loaned on to Spanish mid-table side Getafe.
Although the player might be playing for a mid-table club, the difference in quality was astoundingly visible from the moment he set foot on the field for his new club on loan.
Recently, in a match against Celta Vigo, Greenwood provided two wonderful assists to help his side win the match 3-2. The player has already contributed with 5 goals and 6 assists in La Liga in such a short amount of time, with reports stating that there could be a change in the thought process of the Manchester United board considering Greenwood’s excellent form in Spain.
Initially, Greenwood was set to leave Manchester United and he was sent on loan to gather buyers for the club but reports suggest that his recent performances might have convinced the new man in charge, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, after he bought a 25% share of the club.
As it seems currently, the player’s future at Manchester United is up in the air and would largely depend on whether the player can perform consistently till the end of the current season, as Manchester United is in dire need of goal scorers in their league.
