The NBA community is on the edge of their seats as the Dallas Mavericks inch closer to signing a contract with Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.
Yesterday, the Mavericks submitted a bombshell bid to acquire Kyrie Irving and power forward Markieff Morris from the Nets with Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2027 first-round pick, and a first-round and a second-round pick in the 2029 NBA draft.
Despite the fact that the agreement has yet to be finalized, Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James appeared to be disappointed in his desperate desire to reunite with his former teammate.

LeBron James spent four years with the 30-year-old point guard during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Partnering with him earned him the NBA championship title, NBA finals MVP, NBA all-star four times, all-star game MVP, and AP athlete of the year twice.
However, those golden days make it more painful for King James as the Lakers are suffering from a consistent injury bug that has barred the franchise from playing to its full potential. The 38-year-old is pulling the entire team on his own, but it is insufficient.
The Lakers were in the lead of the race for Irving even before his trade request; however, the Mavericks seem to have swept in and snatched away the prize from them. The Mavericks could pull this type of stunt to support and establish chemistry with youngster Luka Doncic, as we suspected.
There is a lot to be done in such a short period, and the deadline will be over after February 9. The Mavericks have already committed many resources to the nets, and that might affect the contract with the athlete, but we assume not.
