Even though the Los Angeles Dodgers were phenomenal in their 2022 campaign, they were unable to make it to the finals. The team earlier in the season had played a total of 162 matches and went on to win 111! Even then, they could not win against the San Diego Padres.
After their embarrassing defeat, the team has decided to bring a few changes to their 2022 lineup so that they can have a better balance and come out stronger in the 2023 edition of the MLB.
On Wednesday, the Dodgers revealed they had traded for Minor League infielder Jacob Amaya to acquire Miami Marlins shortstop Miguel Rojas. This “MLB Trade” will relieve many Dodgers fans as the team struggled with their infield.
What does Miguel Rojas bring on board in the Dodgers camp?
Rojas is no stranger to the Dodgers camp; the player had earlier debuted for the franchise in 2014. While playing as a rookie, the Shortstop could not create much of an impact in the 2014 season. He played a total of 85 games, where he only scored 16 runs. However, he was good with his infield skills.
Did you know Miguel Rojas has a place in @Dodgers history?

Furthermore, moving away from Los Angeles, the right-hander played his next eight seasons with Miami Marlins. In the Marline camp, the player could grow and develop his skills. Stats are evidence of his improvement- in 2014, the Shortstop impacted on the field with only 41 putouts, 101 assists, and 25 double plays turned.
However, after spending eight years with the Marlins, his fielding skills reached new heights- breaking all barriers in his path and reaching a level at the 2014 point seemed impossible. In his fifth year (2019) with the Marlins, Miguel registered a career-best 178 putouts, 287 assists, and 74 double plays turned. Following these stats, in 2021, the Shortstop once again reached new standers with 192 putouts, 282 assists, and 80 double plays turned.
Coming back into the Dodgers camp, the team will hope that they made the right MLB trade and that Rojas continues in performances in the field and help Los Angles win the title next year. Can Miguel Rojas do it? Stay tuned and find out next season.
