MLS Twitter handle makes hilarious identity error

Major League Soccer’s Twitter handle posted a tweet to welcome Sergio Busquets to the league. Things actually did not go according to plan, however, as the admin made a glaring error in the superstar’s introductory post. The admin wanted to post a picture of Busquets lifting the FIFA World Cup, after his triumph with Spain in the 2010 World Cup. Instead, the admin posted the picture of ex-Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa with the world cup trophy.

The admin was quickly informed about his egregious mistake by the soccer community on the social media platform. The mistake was remedied by reposting a picture of the Spanish defensive midfielder, with an awkward caption. The admin captioned, why do Arbeloa and Busquets look so similar in these. Admin needs new glasses.”

Tweets regarding the post

The Twitter community were hilarious in their reactions to the tweet, with some alleging poor ball knowledge on the end of the account handler. Some users were also appreciating the way the admin handled the whole situation.
