Despite experiencing a decline in star power due to various losses and scandals, Conor remains the UFC’s most prominent fighter. After suffering a leg injury in a 2021 fight, he is finally poised to make his return.
On February 4, 2023, the UFC officially announced that McGregor would be facing the beloved fighter Michael Chandler in the latter half of 2023.
In addition to this matchup, McGregor and Chandler were revealed as coaches for the 31st season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” the UFC’s reality TV show. The season is set to be broadcast on ESPN/ESPN+ from May 30 to August 15, 2023.
However, as the start of “TUF” approached in late May, the Conor vs. Michael fight had yet to be scheduled. UFC President Dana White indicated that efforts were still underway to arrange the bout sometime in 2023.
