MMA star Paddy Pimblett confident in facing UFC 288 winner Matt Frevola as an easy ticket into lightweight rankings

After extending his winning streak in the UFC with a convincing victory over Drew Dober, Matt Frevola has called out Paddy Pimblett as his probable next opponent. In a recent response to the call-out, Paddy claimed that Matt would be an easy path to the lightweight ranking for him.

What did Matt Frevola say to Paddy Pimblett?

At the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in this week’s UFC grand event, Frevola engaged in a thrilling lightweight battle with Drew Dober. In the fourth minute of the opening round, Steamrolla submitted the veteran MMA fighter with sheer dominance.

Although ‘Steamrolla’ was dominant throughout the entire bout, Drew was undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with as the 34-year-old fighter entered the octagon winning three straight fights against opponents like Terrance McKinney, Rafael Alves, and Bobby Green. The ‘Steamrolla’ during the octagon interview called out Paddy The Baddy as him and the British fighter appear to have some hatred for one another.

“Paddy Pimblett, you absolutely suck. Stop being a b*tch and let’s fight. You’re on a four-fight win streak. I’m on a three-fight win streak. If you’re in the UFC, you can’t pick and choose your fights. You’ve got to fight who the fans want to see you fight.” said Matt.

How did Paddy Pimblett reply to Matt Frevola?

Currently on a four-fight winning streak, The Baddy is recovering from an injury. The British fighter is uncertain of when he will fight again. Despite the fact that Paddy made no public statements regarding Matt’s fight offer, he appeared to discuss it in two Instagram comments.

“Bit of a weird time to call me out when I can’t even train. But (yes) I’d fight Frevola when I’m back, probably the easiest route into the top 15.”Paddy said.

Paddy, has remained undefeated in the UFC amassing a perfect record of four fights and four victories in just fifteen months. The controversy surrounding Pimblett’s most recent victory over Jared Gordon at UFC282 was intense. Former Cage Warrior featherweight champion also defeated Jordan Leavitt, Kazula Vargas, and Luigi Vendramini.

“I’ll get back in the gym when I can pal. For now, the doctors have told me I cannot train.” Paddy commented.

It makes sense for The Steamrolla and The Baddy to engage in a lightweight bout since it will match up two fighters who are currently on winning streaks. Who do you think between Paddy and Matt to prevail in an octagon fight? Please let us know your ideas and viewpoints in the comment area.
