Orlando Magic center Mohamed Bamba has gained notoriety after getting a four-game ban following a brawl on February 3 at Target Center.
He didn’t have to serve all of those suspensions as a Magic player, though, because the Los Angeles Lakers traded Patrick Beverley, a future second-round pick, and cash for him just before the trade deadline. As of now, tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors will be his final game before his suspension is lifted.
Before parting ways with the Orlando Magic, the player shared a heartfelt letter with the fans, teammates, and others.
What did Mohammed Bamba say in the farewell letter?
After five years with the Magic franchise, Bamba formed an unbreakable bond and relationship with all parties involved. As his first NBA team, the Magic will always have a place in his heart for the rest of his career.
In his Twitter post, he shared a picture of a handwritten letter he wrote and said in the caption, “To my Magic teammates, coaches, support staff and the fans…thank you all.”

In the letter, he wrote, “Dear Orlando. Thank you. I hadn’t lived in one spot for this long since elementary school, so thank you for giving me a welcoming place that I’ll always consider home.”
“I appreciate your belief in me from day 1 and look forward to seeing the guys again. I’ll always root for them as long as they’re not playing The Lakers! See y’all soon…,” the center concluded.
The 7-foot center joined the franchise as the 6th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. Prior to that, he was a college player at the University of Texas.
After moving to Orlando, he played 266 games and scored 7.7 points on average with 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in those five seasons. He became an instrumental part of the franchise’s roster in the meantime.
