Months after losing Super Bowl to Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs, Eagles star blames field conditions as a factor behind the loss

The Eagles are in a slightly front line in face-to-face battles with the Chiefs. With a 7-6 record against the Patriots all-time, the Eagles took themselves as the favorite in the Super Bowl final. However, the Chiefs demoralized them with their dominance and allowed the Eagles’ supporters to depart the stadium in tears.

Even though the clubs are about to embark on a new season, the Eagles’ players and supporters’ hearts grew heavy as they thought back on their narrow loss in the playoff game. The Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert recently cited the field conditions as the cause of their defeat.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert discusses Super Bowl loss

In his recent appearance on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take podcast” Goedert recalled the scenery of the match. The tight end regards the match as a perfect battle, however, he is still not ready to accept their defeat.

The field was not good for running for which multiple players slipped during the game. The Eagles’ player criticized Sodfather,” 94-year-old George Toma, for the field conditions and stated the field conditions played a role in their defeat.

“I think I’m almost over it,” Goedert said on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast of the 38-35 loss the Kansas City Chiefs handed the Eagles. “Man, the Sodfather did not do good, but he knew what he was doing. All I can say is it was a great game until the end.”

Dallas recorded six passes for 60 yards that night and he felt he would be able to contribute more if the field conditions were better.

“If the field was better, if we were playing on turf, you know I’d take us 10 (times) out of 10,” Goedert said. “But I have to say that.”

Though the close defeat is not easy to forget, the Eagles’ TE hope to learn a great lesson from it and utilize it in their upcoming season.

“I just hope we get back and play on good turf next year.”

Where wass the Super Bowl held in 2023?
