“Nah bro, I hit him with a massive shot”: KSI denies elbow hit accusations vs Joe Fournier

YouTube megastar KSI stepped inside the ring to take on former WBA international champion Joe Fournier in a six-round boxing bout at the OVO Arena in London, England. This highly anticipated matchup was the main event of Misfits 007 and the atmosphere was electric as fans came to support the home-favorite British superstar JJ.

As expected by many, KSI put on a great show from the first minute of the fight as he landed some good shots and troubled Fournier with his unorthodox boxing style. Thereafter in the second round, JJ landed a powerful right overhand to daze the Billionaire. He followed it with another good shot to knock Joe Fournier out cold.

It seemed that the YouTube megastar had picked up the biggest win of his life in brutal fashion. However, replays suggest that KSI landed an unintentional elbow in the knockout sequence that dropped the businessman-turned-boxer. The match referee unfortunately failed to notice the move and as a result, he declared JJ as the winner by knockout.

Consequently, in the post-fight interview, KSI was questioned whether he accidentally elbowed Fournier which led to the knockout. The 29-year-old YouTube sensation denied the allegations and claimed “Nah bro, I hit him with a massive shot and he was dazed, he was scrambling, trying to hold on to me for dear life. I was like, ‘Nah, Nah, your soul is mine.'”

Jake Paul rips KSI after he knocked out Joe Fournier with an illegal elbow

The headline after the main event of Misfits 007 was the accidental elbow by KSI during his fight against Joe Fournier. Fight fans, analysts, and celebrities around the world reacted to the viral incident and shared their thoughts on social media. JJ’s arch-nemesis Jake Paul was quick to comment on the fight as he went on Twitter and posted a video.

The Problem Child criticized the referee for declaring it a knockout win and demanded that the result should be overturned into a no-contest or DQ loss to KSI. Interestingly, most people on the internet seem to share the opinion that regardless of how the fight was playing out the 29-year-old YouTuber shouldn’t have won the bout.

In the end, It would be intriguing to see whether PBA who sanctioned this bout overturns the decision or sticks with the original result. Video replays clearly showed that JJ hit Fournier with an elbow. Whether the blow was indeed illegal needs to be seen.

With that being said, a DQ loss would be a big blow to KSI as he looked to be on the course to knockout Fournier either way.
