Joel Embiid will not be playing for France in the 2024 Olympic games. He has decided to play for a different nation. The potential 2024 USA Olympic basketball team is looking pretty stacked. Although every year team USA wins the gold medal as they have a super team, the 2024 Olympic basketball games will be more exciting as the team will probably have LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant playing together.
Watching so many super stars play for team USA might make fans faint out of happiness and excitement. To many it would seem like watching Gojo Satoru, Saitama, Monkey D. Luffy and many other anime heroes fighting together against the same villains.
Jason Kidd reacts to Joel Embiid Joining Team USA
Jason Kidd the two-time Olympic gold medalist and Dallas Mavericks Head Coach is happy about Joel Embiid’s decision to play for Team USA.
When asked how he felt about Joel’s commitment, Kidd responded, “That’s great news for Team USA. We need all the top players to play in Paris if we want a chance at the Gold medal. The world has gotten better, we saw that at the World Cup. I think that’s great news for Team USA to have one of the best players accept that invitation.” The other countries are slowly getting better in Basketball and so team USA will need a big strong and skilled center like Embiid.
France C Rudy Gobert opens up on Joel Embiid Joining Team USA
Rudy Gobert, the French giant and Minnesota Timberwolves center, spoke about how he felt after hearing Embiid declare that he will be playing for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics
Gobert said, “I am happy for him. I guess we’ll see him in Paris. I am happy for him, as long as he does what makes him happy and he follows his heart. That’s what matters. I think it’s definitely something that they needed. They needed a dominant big man, so they’re definitely going to have a good roster next summer.”
Lakers LeBron James hints he acquired Joel Embiid for Team USA
LeBron James was doing an interview about his expectations for the LA Lakers this season when he was asked about his thoughts on Embiid’s commitment. Like many, he was surprised but excited to be able to play with the reigning NBA MVP on the international stage.
LeBron said, “What happened? That’s awesome, Embiid committed to us? Great. It’s big time,” James said. When asked if he had something to do with Embiid committing to Team USA, he smiled and answered simply, “I have no idea.”
