LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the top two players in the Los Angeles Lakers’ squad. The way they dominate the game when playing together is intimidating for their opponents. LeBron, even at the age of 38, remains one of the top 10 players in the league.
Both LeBron and Davis played significant roles in bringing home the championship trophy in 2020 and are eager to repeat that marvelous feat. However, there is one major problem: the Lakers’ squad relies heavily on the presence of LeBron and Davis.
Brian Windhorst warns Lakers against overusing LeBron and AD
American sports writer Brian Windhorst warned the Lakers against overusing LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers won their last game by defeating their arch rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. LeBron delivered an amazing performance and scored 35 points in the game. Although LeBron’s performance was exceptional, it led to a worrisome take from ESPN insider Brian Windhorst.
“It’s a good news/worrying news for the Lakers,” Windhorst said on ESPN. “LeBron’s fourth quarter play in these first five games is as good of a fourth quarter stretch as we’ve seen in his career. He’s averaging 10 points and shooting over 60 percent from the field in the fourth quarters. And that’s been huge for the Lakers, that’s been a difference-making performance over and over to get them to this 3-2 record,” Windhorst said highlighting the positive impact of LeBron James on the Lakers team.
However he also spoke about the necessity of having a healthy LeBron James. “The reason you’re seeing him do this is because this is healthy and fresh LeBron. He’s able to have that explosion, he’s able to push off that foot again which he wasn’t able to do at the end of last season. This is what you want to see LeBron have in the tank when you get to the end of the year and that’s why the Lakers were hoping to avoid this… This can’t be something that happens over and over,” he added.
LeBron James leads Lakers to break 11-game losing streak
LeBron James lead the LA lakers to victory in their recent matchup against the Clippers. The Los Angeles Lakers rallied from an early 19-point deficit and ended an 11-game losing streak against the visiting Los Angeles Clippers with a 130-125 overtime victory Wednesday.
Both Anthony Davis and D’ Angelo Russell scored 27 points helping the team win. Even Cam Reddish displayed a pretty decent performance and was praised by LeBron and D’ Angelo. The entire team played well and brought a smile on the face of their fans. Lakers have won 3 out of the 5 games they have played this season and will be trying their best to win more. They need their role players to perform well consistently in order to reduce the workload on LeBron and AD.
