Giannis Antetokounmpo sues high-end bed company
Giannis Antetokounmpo has filed a lawsuit against Maree, a company that sells luxury and designer beds. Giannis did this because he has two issues with the company. The first is that the company has used a picture of him without his consent to make it look like that he endorses the company. Maree made the post on their Instagram, but it has since been taken down.
The second issue is that Maree had failed to deliver him four beds in Greece. Giannis is demanding a $95,391.65 refund and wants the company to stop using his name, image and Likeness.
According to a report Giannis received only 11 out of 43 items purchased with the bed and even those items were in poor condition or were in an unusable state. Fans found this situation funny and cracked several jokes about it. One fan said, “A freak on an off the court. Have some shame Giannis.” Another said,” Damn this must be personal,” and so on.
The Antetokounmpos tried to call CEO Erica Gleaton several times but she dodged all the calls. Giannis’s complaints about breach of contract and false endorsements will be heard in court. Maree will look to counter the claims in court while lawyers defend the company. Meanwhile Giannis will continue to play and dominate along with his new teammate Damian Lillard.
Giannis’s legal battle will not interfere with the upcoming season. He will be able to play and perform while his legal team will deal with the matter.
