The Sixers’ unwillingness to accept Deandre Ayton in exchange, though, is a significant barrier to a deal with Phoenix because they already have Joel Embiid as their centre. The Pacers have expressed interest, but given Harris’ exorbitant contract, they lack the required resources to make a deal work.
The Sixers’ management is allegedly overvaluing Harris in trade negotiations and demanding hefty money, according to sources. Philadelphia, though, intends to hold onto Harris for the time being while they wait for other trade chances before the February deadline.
