The Brooklyn Nets have been bombarded by shocking decisions from players throughout this season, as the recent Kyrie Irving trade drama is coming to an end.
The Nets’ star point guard submitted a trade request on Friday after not receiving the desired extension offer from the franchise. The Los Angeles Lakers were eyeing the athlete long before his change of heart, but the Dallas Mavericks seem to have the last laugh, as per Shams Charania.
Previously, Nets superstar Kevin Durant pulled the same stunt at the beginning of the season, but the franchise was able to hold on for the season.
What is the latest trade rumor regarding Kevin Durant?
After the trade drama returned to the Barclays Center, the spotlight again found the 34-year-old star. The Phoenix Suns are leading the race again this time after acquiring him.

Kevin has a couple of seasons left on his four-year, $198 million contract, which he signed in 2021. But after a disappointing playoff run, he thought about moving to the Phoenix Suns or Miami Heat, but the team was able to turn down his trade request.
The Nets are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, hoping to appear in the postseason with a hugely weaker side, we assume. The Suns, on the other hand, are in a similar situation, having been assigned the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
For the past two seasons, the Nets have relied heavily on the Irving-Durant duo. Irving’s departure, on the other hand, will be a huge blow to the team; he was more trouble than he was worth having. But Durant’s image was entirely something else.
The two-time back-to-back NBA champion scored on average 29.7 points with 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in 39 appearances this season. Durant’s fitness issue is keeping him from reaching his full potential.
Do you think the Suns will finally be able to sign Kevin Durant before the February 9 deadline? If it were to happen, what impact might the Nets have on the remaining season?
