LeBron James, the biggest name in the game today, is the obvious main character in most of the rumors, stories, and speculations around the NBA alley. There was a certain inevitability that trade news regarding LBJ would make rounds on the internet ahead of the recently shut trade deadline.
One such story now surfacing is about a failed attempt to link him up with another face of the NBA, Stephen Curry. While the fantasy did not translate into reality, the names involved are well and truly enough to create ripples through the NBA world.
Warriors tried to trade LeBron James on deadline day
It is not astonishing that one of the greatest players in the NBA will take the spotlight during the trade window. The 39-year-old himself sparked speculations when he was seen in the Knicks towel in a post-match interview.
The chatters also began when he posted an hourglass emoji on X (colloquially known as Twitter) after a losing match. It seemed like the 4-time Champion was ready for a move.
According to reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, there were two teams keen on obtaining the Lakers great LeBron James. As per the reports, both the Golden State Warriors and Sixers approached the Lakers for a possible trade. Later James’ agent Rich Paul clarified everything and stated that the 4-time NBA MVP was contented in his current team and wished to stay there.
LeBron’s current stats record 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists in the 49 games that he played so far this season. His next season contract has a player option. So, there is a possibility of getting him to sign a contract with some other team once the 2023-2024 season is over but there has been talks of his inclination to continue at the Lakers.

The two NBA icons LeBron James and Stephen Curry have faced each other several times but have never played together. They have played 50 games as rivals: 21 in the regular season, 1 in the Play-in and 28 in the Play-offs. The 2-time NBA MVP’s side has been the dominant one winning the 10 regular season games and 17 playoffs.
The first time they faced off was on November 17, 2009, when LeBron James was with the Cavaliers. In that game, LeBron scored 31 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 12 assists, while Curry recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists. Fast forward to their recent matchup last month, where the Lakers narrowly defeated Curry’s team 145-144. In that game, Curry scored 46 points, but LeBron outperformed him in rebounds with 20 and assists with 12.

While they have never been teammates in the NBA, there’s speculation that both LeBron James and Stephen Curry could be part of the USA Basketball team for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Although it’s not officially confirmed, if they do play together, it would be fascinating to witness two of the greatest players on the floor wearing the same jerseys.
