NCAA Football 2024: When will EA Sports release the new game?

Electronic Arts is a video game developer company known for its revolutionizing games like FIFA, UFC, and F1, which have changed the dynamics of sports’ video games forever. EA last issued its popular college football video game a long time ago, in 2013. It’s been a decade since the company announced that it was discontinuing the game.

NCAA Football is an American football video game series wherein players control and compete against current Division I FBS college teams. It is a counterpart to the Madden NFL series. And fans can now get excited, as the newest edition of the NCAA Football game might not be far away.

When will EA Sports release the new NCAA Football 2024?

EA Sports officially announced the release of the NCAA Football Game 2024 on their Twitter account in 2021. It had a running series that EA regrettably stopped producing in 2013. The reason behind the abandonment was that a court ruling forced EA Sports to pay compensation to athletes who had previously been included in the product but were not paid.

Daryl Holt, the vice president and general manager of EA Sports, told ESPN’s Michael Rothstein: “That’s the best date for us to bring the game that we think is going to meet or exceed our player expectations, and cover the breadth and scale of what we want in the game. We’re trying to build a very immersive college football experience.”

There will be a wait for those who are eager to play. Fans, however, will probably be thrilled to learn that, in addition to a dynasty mode, Holt hopes to incorporate actual players into the next game. 

It was revealed by a story from 247 Sports, saying, “EA Sports is expected to release new details of the video game online to coincide with the College Football Playoff’s national championship between No. 1 Michigan (14-0) and No. 2 Washington (14-0) in Houston on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN), sources said.”

But during the championship, no particular update about the game came up throughout. The disappointment of the fans of the game could be witnessed by just seeing their faces.

Although it is believed that the game is likely to be released in summer 2024, fans have been eagerly awaiting an official release date for the game.

Internet reactions to EA Sports not providing the 2024 NCAA football release date

Ahead of the national college football game between Michigan and Washington, rumours were all around the corner that a major update, like a trailer for the video game, would be released during the championship.

The fans, who have been awaiting the launch of the game since 2021, waited and waited for a few more days to witness their most-awaited day. But there was not even a hint of the game released during the entire championship. Devastated fans took it all out on social media platforms.

Some even managed to write, “Not even a release date from EA Sports for the new NCAA Football game? Listen you fucks: I’m 39 so my youth is just about gone, I’m in a career I hate, it’s going to snow about 24 inches here by Sat…this game is all that’s keeping me going, snd yet you can’t even give me a date!”.

The fans are disappointed and furious with still no response from the developers except for Matt Brown of the Extra Points newsletter, who has reported extensively on the game’s development. He said that while he thought some minor news might be revealed, he had no reason to believe it would be something as substantive as a gameplay trailer.
