Regarding this, the Chiefs tight end received backlash from NFL analysts for stimulating the Taylor Swift hype as buzzworthy cultural moment.
Stephen A. Smith takes a swipe at Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce’s amplified spotlight over the dating rumors have reflected annoyance from fans who are more drawn towards the games. For starters, some social media users believed the NFL was showing nepotism when the Chiefs’ official Instagram page briefly changed its bio to read “Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifties” in reference to Taylor Swift’s recent presence at their games.
NFL later responded with, “We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally.”
“The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players and variety of other initiatives, including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games and more.”, they included.
However, to all the media coverage of Travis and Taylor, the Chiefs player pointed out that he feels the NFL needs to “calm down” on the most recent episode of the podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. He added, “I think it’s fun when they show who was at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, I think … They’re overdoing it a little bit, for sure, especially my situation.”
In response to Travis’ comment about the NFL “overdoing it”, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith stated that he disagrees with his own discomfort with the publicity, not with the spotlight Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are garnering. Smith accentuated that the NFL is not at fault for the matter, when hype amongst netizens were fueled by Kelce himself.
While many were not contended about the media coverage, Molly Qerim on the contrary suggested that maybe the player wasn’t aware of the outcomes it would eventually to lead to.
Travis delights his niece on her fourth birthday
This weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles’ player, Jason Kelce‘s oldest daughter marked her fourth birthday. Travis expressed his fondness for niece, Wyatt’s birthday with a thoughtful present.
On his October 4th podcast episode Travis wished her with excitement, “Happy birthday, baby Wy!”
“She loves the camera you got her”, the center for the Philadelphia Eagles conveyed his delight on the gift Travis got for Wyaat. Moreover, Jason’s wife Kylie, joyfully described the close relationship between her girls and their beloved uncle, Travis, in a recent People Magazine interview. She called him the “absolute best uncle” and revealed that when Travis visits, their girls insist on occupying him with puzzles and building blocks instead of letting him sit on the couch.
She mentioned, “Our oldest, she’s, our boss. She’s our ringleader, and she just has demand after demand for him”.
