Many dreams were realized during the April 27–April 29 NFL Draft 2023 in Kansas City. The seventh round of the program was over with a total of 259 picks, leaving plenty of talented players yet available to be drafted who have become free agents and may set with any team they want if they aren’t selected after the seven rounds.
All the teams are currently busy trying to have the top college players who are still available after the draft has ended after making their desired pick in the system. Despite having a successful college career, some players left the NFL much sooner than they had anticipated. Let’s look at some of the top free agents who were signed this season after going undrafted.
2023 NFL draft: Top players who got signed after being undrafted this season
Sean Tucker
Sean Tucker, a running back who set a single-season record for rushing yards in 2021 with 1,496 yards, has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent. In addition to being a multiple-time All-ACC selection, he was named to the First Team All-America in 2021.
Eli Ricks
Eli Ricks, a former cornerback for LSU and Alabama, joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a rookie free agent after playing for Alabama for just one season in Tuscaloosa. He possesses all the tools necessary to be a dominant player in the NFL, and as a result, in 2020, as a true freshman, he was chosen as a Freshman All-America by the Football Writers Association of America and received third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press.
Emil Ekiyor Jr.
Emil Ekiyor Jr., a senior offensive lineman from Alabama, signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday evening. From the start of his high school career, he was a prominent interior lineman nationally, and in 2022, he was named to the first team of the SEC by the coaches of the league and the Associated Press.
Although no player usually wants to go undrafted, they can still have a chance to play in the NFL by signing with the team of their choice.
