NFL Fans Call Out Travis Hunter for Strange Route-Running at Pro Day

Travis Hunter, the two-way star from Colorado and 2024 Heisman Trophy candidate, found himself under some scrutiny following his performance at Colorado’s Pro Day.

As a Heisman Trophy candidate, Hunter caught everyone’s attention during Colorado’s Pro Day on Friday. With NFL coaches, executives, and scouts in attendance, it was a big day to see the top prospects up close before the draft. Hunter, along with quarterback Shedeur Sanders, was one of the star attractions at the event.

Though Hunter chose not to participate in the workouts, he still gave teams a good look at his route-running skills. Unfortunately, his performance drew mixed reactions from some fans.

While he impressed some by making catches without gloves, others weren’t as impressed with his route-running technique.

Here’s what they are saying.

Fans react to Travis Hunter’s route-running

Though many saw this as Hunter’s last big chance to show off his skills before the NFL draft, the reactions on social media were mixed. Some comments were lighthearted critiques, while others were more skeptical.

One fan even joked that his routes looked like the ones you run with your 10-year-old nephew after a few drinks at Thanksgiving.

Sharing a fun TikTok dance video, @MattFFDynasty captioned, “When you ask Travis Hunter to run a route at the pro day…”

@DustyBottoms04 tweeted, “Travis Hunter running a route looks like every little kid right after they say “look what I can do” then do the dumbest shit you have ever seen.”

@RapSheet said, “Hunter did run routes, after all 😳”

@SavageSports_ noted, “Travis Hunter running routes yesterday like he wants to fall to 4 and play with Drake Maye.”

@JDub648 wrote, “Wtf was that? The skibitty whoopty doo shuffle?”
