Last night’s match between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills on Monday night football sent Bills safety Damar Hamlin to the hospital after he sustained a deadly cardiac arrest. As of now, his latest update on his health is showing some improvement in the ICU of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
During the first quarter of the game, Hamlin was directly hit right on the chest while attempting a tackle on Tee Higgins. The paramedics tried their best, but eventually the defender was rushed to the hospital for better treatment. His family was also on the ground during the frightful moment.
What is the Damar Hamlin’s Charitable Foundation?
Damar Hamlin had launched a charity named ‘The Chasing M’s Foundation’ on GoFundMe. The toy drive charity has skyrocketed since the accident involving the 24-year-old. The latest amount of the donation just crossed $5.6 million.
The money will go to Hamlin’s foundation to buy toys for children in need in his hometown, McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Damar founded the charity before the NFL, in Pittsburgh in 2020.
The Hamlin family expressed their gratitude for fans’ love and support in the donation. “We want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support shown to Damar during this challenging time,” they said in a statement.

Over 191,000 people have donated since the opening of the charity, raising two thousand times more than the initial campaign in 2020. The GoFundMe page also got a huge boost from this urge to donate.
Damar declared his charity a success in December of last year, stating that it gives people “the opportunity to contribute to our first initiative and positively impact children who have been hardest hit by the pandemic,” as he wrote. Damar was operating the campaign through his Instagram account during the pandemic.
We also encourage you to donate through the GoFundMe page and pray for the youngsters’ health. Stay tuned to SportsZion for more information.
