The seven-time Super Bowl winner often shared how his mother had been a driving force in his career. She encouraged him to join sports and always motivated him. Her unwavering belief in him built his confidence.
Once the NFL legend shared that during the start of his career, his mother encouraged him by telling him that he was as fast as Russell Wilson. He shared that my mom always used to say you can do it to which I replied that there are many great players out there like Cam Newton and Russell Wilson.
“My mom was always the one that said, ‘You can do it. You can do it, sweetheart. She still says that! I would say, ‘Mom — guys like Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, they make all these great plays with their feet.’”
His mother replied that you are as fast as they are.
“And [she’d say], ‘Well, you’re just as fast as they are!’ I said, ‘Mom, I don’t know what you’re watching.’”
Tom Brady chuckled at her comment and responded humorously. Indeed, like other players, Brady’s journey was full of ups and downs. He started as the backup quarterback, and he retired as the GOAT of the NFL. His mother’s unwavering support and belief in him helped him thrive and become the successful player that he is today.

Despite Tom Brady’s success, his parents, Galynn and Thomas Brady Sr., still reside in their family home, portraying their down-to-earth nature. In 2016, his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After that, she went through severe chemotherapy and other treatments.
Owing to her illness, Galynn had to miss his son’s Super Bowl game with the New England Patriots. But after that, the doctors declared that she is now cancer-free and can attend all of his son’s upcoming games. The owner of the Patriots, Robert Kraft, gifted Brady’s mom a Super Bowl ring as well.
Having such a strong and steadfast mother helped Tom Brady a lot to thrive in the complex world of the NFL. His parents must be proud of how far he has come. Although his career as an NFL player has ended, fans can look forward to the new ventures of Tom Brady.
