Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has found himself in a difficult situation after Saturday night’s street race that became a six-car crash in Dallas. The accident resulted in multiple injuries and the drivers of the cars left the scene.
The WR was reportedly involved in the accident and if proven guilty, he will not only face legal problems but strict consequences from the NFL and Chiefs as well.
Rashee Rice likely to face suspension from Chiefs
Rashee Rice is expected to face civil liability and criminal liability if it is proved that he was driving one of the cars involved in the collision.
Although no one got major injury as a result of the accident, being involved in street racing can cause not only legal problems but affect the career of the WR as well.
Considering that the drivers left the scene without helping the injured, this can make the matter worse for Rice.
“The occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help or providing their information,” Dallas police reported.
Apart from facing legal consequences, the NFL and Chiefs are also expected to take action against Rashee Rice. The league could choose to discipline Rice for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
Rashee Rice is believed to be the driver of either the Corvette or the Lamborghini Urus vehicles that were involved in the crash. Once it is confirmed that he was racing and he left the scene, the WR will be suspended by the league.
As far as the Chiefs are concerned, the team could cut him for the incident and void his guaranteed salary for 2024. Rahee Rice has gotten himself into a grave situation, as now not only his freedom is a concern, but his NFL career is also at stake.
Rashee Rice takes full responsibility for his horrific car crash
After the accident, it was not confirmed whether Rashee Rice was involved in it or not. Reports indicated that Rice owns the Corvette involved in the crash and leases a Lamborghini. However, it was not confirmed that he was driving at the time of the accident.
However, the WR has decided to cooperate with the police and took full responsibility for this horrific car crash that left four people injured.
“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident. I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”
Rashee Rice, who resisted taking pictures with Taylor Swift accepted that he was involved in the racing and in the accident and apologized to the victims of this car crash.
Fortunately, no fatalities resulted from the six-car collision but four people were injured. The investigation is continuing and soon the NFL and the Chiefs will also decide about Rashee Rice and his future.
