The Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry has recently entered the realm of trade gossip after heading into the last year of his contract, and a couple of franchises might be interested in him.
Derrick signed a four-year, $50 million contract with the Titans in 2020, and after last season, both parties might feel encouraged to part ways. The Titans failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2018; they finished second in the AFC South with a 7-10 record.
With the star running back on the market, some franchises already became possible landing spots for him.
Which team can Derrick Henry join?
The 29-year-old is a lucrative prospect for any team in the NFL, but the Dallas Cowboys are assuming the most likely landing spot as they are currently in need of an athlete like him. In his latest article, NFL insider Bill Barnwell explored the possibilities of the trade.
“There’s also a chance expensive veterans such as Derrick Henry and Dalvin Cook could be released after the draft,” Bill justified the Cowboys’ interest. The franchise recently released their first-choice star, Ezekiel Elliott, and put the backup, Tony Pollard, on the franchise tag.

Although they signed an exciting prospect, Ronald Jones-he doesn’t have enough experience to be a starter, despite being a Super Bowl champion twice. That gap might give the Cowboys a nudge to pursue the two-time rushing yard leader.
Henry started all 16 games for the Titans and made 13 rushing touchdowns; he accumulated 1,538 yards of rushing with the league’s most attempts (349). On the other hand, he also had his career’s highest fumble total last season, with six fumbles and three losses.

In his seven years with the Titans, the RB has been named Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Pro in 2020, Pro Bowl three times, and rushing touchdown leader twice.
