In her last bout at UFC 272, Rodriguez fought against Yan Xiaonan and secured a split decision victory. After a split decision defeat against Carla Esparza on July 26, 2020, the Brazilian fighter never lost a bout, which made her one of the worthiest strawweight fighters to get a title shot.

But it seems her title shot dream will not be fulfilled so easily. Rodriguez got her new opponent, and she is preparing to take down Amanda Lemos on November 6, 2022, at UFC apex. As the fight is delaying her title shot, the 35 years old fighter is not happy at all, but she seems confident that she would easily beat Amanda Lemos.
“I’m very confident that I will defeat Amanda. No matter how, I’m going to be the next challenger. If everything goes perfectly, I’m going to be there to see this fight. I know she’s really tough. She’s got good victories; she’s got really good victories in the UFC. But we are both aggressive strikers, so I’m 100 percent confident that our fight has everything it takes to be the Fight of the Night.”
While praising her opponent, Rodiguez also expressed how confident she is about herself; the Brazilian knows she will be the next champion, and in the way of the championship, she will fight anyone, which will make her a better fighter, but one day she will definitely claim the title.
“There’s a surprise effect in every fight, like when Carla defeated Rose. But for me, to be honest, it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that I’m going to be there. I’m going to be ready.”
