The cousin of former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Umar Nurmagomedov, is rapidly advancing in the bantamweight division. Dana White, however, yesterday discussed the reasons why Umar’s upcoming fight is still unscheduled at the moment.

What did Dana White say about Umar Nurmagomedov?
Unquestionably, Umar is one of the UFC’s best young prospects. The Dagestani fighter currently poses a danger to all bantamweight leaders. Dana White boldly expressed the unpleasant truth that everyone is currently afraid of the Russian youngster while talking about Umar.
“We were talking about (Umar Nurmagomedov) earlier. That’s a guy not everybody’s beating down the door to fight. So yeah. We’ll figure something out with him.” Dana said.
On UFC Vegas 67, Young Eagle last fought in the octagon against Raoni Barcelos. Umar easily and convincingly defeated the Brazilian fighter at the UFC APEX event in Las Vegas.

Umar currently holds a 16-0-0 overall record in all mixed martial arts contests, with four victories in the UFC’s Bantamweight division. Any top bantamweight fighter would naturally want to avoid risk facing an undefeated fighter like Umar.
“Nobody wants to take that risk on a guy who isn’t ranked. It’s tough. Those are the fights that publicly, everybody says they’ll take, but privately, nobody says they want to take them.” Dana continued.
