The Denver Nuggets are having a rough start to the season since they lost Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and signed Russell Westbrook and Dario Saric. Given what transpired with Jamal Murray tonight, the Denver Nuggets are now unable to afford any more losses. Unfortunately, the NBA’s concussion protocol forced him to exit Friday night’s game vs the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Murray had six points, two rebounds, and three assists in 22 minutes before the collision, and it ruled him out for the remainder of the game. The incident occurred in the third quarter when Murray collided with Timberwolves forward Julius Randle, causing him to double over in pain.
Randle was in no mood to strike Jamal Murray. He was moving around Murray and Aaron Gordon when Murray bumped into Anthony Edwards and hit Randle. It looked really bad at first, and when Murray stayed on the court for a few more plays, it seemed like he might have a concussion.
Murray’s health is vital to the Nuggets, so they won’t rush him back to play. However, Murray’s temporary absence might create significant issues for the Nuggets’ bench, who are having a tough time this season.
Fans react with frustration to Jamal Murray’s exit
Both the Nuggets and their supporters have found this season to be somewhat disappointing.
