‘Iron’ Michael Chandler had been going about his life following his loss to Dustin ‘Diamond’ Poirier. With Conor’s highly anticipated return coming up and lots of names getting thrown around against him, the former title challenger himself decided to come forward and get the Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor conversations started again.

The rumors of Chandler welcoming the ‘Notorious’ back to his familiar turfs had been going around for a good while. Both are power punchers and can go long distances for entertainment. While both claim to have a ground game, none are keen on using it so fans got excited at the prospect of witnessing an old-school Mano-e-Mano.
Chandler rested his case on Bisping’s ‘Believe you me’ podcast,
“I know for sure that was definitely just a tweet thrown out there to see if it gained any traction. Obviously, everybody knows I would be down. Me, Conor, on TUF, whether it be four-six weeks, however long we would be filming that thing. The tension, the rivalry, the competition, the trash talk, just the animosity that would be built up and then go into a training camp and fight later on after the show.”
“I want the fight. Everybody knows that. The fans want the fight. Dana has gone public saying he wants that fight so the UFC wants the fight. I’ve actually heard from numerous UFC people that that’s the fight that a lot of people are talking about.”
Will Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor actually happen?
Conor has been going through a lot of legal trouble lately. First rumors of Steroid abuse broke out and then his former friend Artem Loboc filed a lawsuit against him over the ownership of the ‘Proper 12’ brand. Conor won a few lawsuits in his favor but got into big trouble after ‘allegedly’ assaulting a woman on his Yacht.
Such lawsuits may affect his mental fortitude and delay his highly-anticipated return.
