Ohio State Outlasts Notre Dame to Secure College Football National Championship

This night was an extra special for college football, especially for the Ohio State team as they won the college football national championship in an exciting final. This is the Buckeyes’ first national title since 2015, which is led by Jeremiah Smith.

Notre Dame started strong with an 18-play, 75-yard drive, ending with Riley Leonard scoring a touchdown for a 7-0 lead. Ohio State quickly tied it 7-7 after Will Howard threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith.

Ohio State kept their momentum going with a 9-yard touchdown run by Quinshon Judkins, making it 14-7. Judkins added another touchdown in the third quarter, and a field goal extended their lead to 24-7.

Notre Dame fought back in the fourth quarter. Riley Leonard threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jaden Greathouse and added a two-point conversion, cutting the score to 24-15.

With under three minutes left, Buckeyes’ Will Howard threw a 56-yard pass to Jeremiah Smith on a key third-and-11, setting up the game-winning touchdown. The Buckeyes sealed a 34-23 victory. After the win, Jeremiah Smith shared a funny post teasing Fighting Irish fans.

Ohio State Trolls Notre Dame After Championship Win

Freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith of the Ohio State Buckeyes made headlines not only for his stellar performance in the College Football Playoff National Championship game but also for his playful trolling of Notre Dame fans after the Buckeyes’ 34-23 victory.

Ohio State added some spice to the victory by trolling Notre Dame fans, who claimed that Jeremiah Smith would enter a “no-fly zone” against their defense.

While Smith responded with smiling and thumbs-down emojis, clearly showing that he wasn’t concerned, the official Buckeyes Twitter account published a tweet with the phrase, “Gold trophies, not helmets.”
