Packers General Manager, Brian Gutekunst, recently shared an update on Jordan Love, and it seems that the young QB is ready to step up to the new challenge.
The Green Bay Packers are embarking on a new era now that they have traded their franchise quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, to the New York Jets. This means that Jordan Love, who has been waiting in the wings for three years, will take over as the starting quarterback for one of the NFL’s most celebrated franchises.
Packers General Manager, Brian Gutekunst, says that the young QB is eager and prepared to take on this challenge, with a lot of excitement in the team’s locker room.
“He’s very energized and ready to go. We got a lot of guys in right now,” said Brian.

NFL Journey of Jordan Love
Love was selected as the 26th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, after a successful college career at Utah State University, where he threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final season. However, he has only played in 10 NFL games and has attempted a mere 83 passes, which makes it difficult to predict his potential as a starting quarterback in the league.
One significant issue for the young quarterback and the Packers is the lack of a top-level wide receiver to help Love develop his skills and gain confidence. Davante Adams, an All-Pro wideout, was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders last year, and Allen Lazard, the team’s most productive receiver in 2022, left to join Rodgers in New York.
As part of the Rodgers trade, the Packers will have the No. 13 pick in this year’s draft, which they could use to draft either a wide receiver or a tight end. Scouts have high praise for Dalton Kincaid or Michael Mayer, both of whom could be available if the team opts for a tight end.
As the Green Bay Packers prepare for their first season without Aaron Rodgers, all eyes are on Jordan Love. While there are some uncertainties about how he will perform as the team’s starting quarterback, the update from GM Brian Gutekunst is certainly encouraging.
The young quarterback is fired up and ready to go, and with a supportive team and coaching staff behind him, there is reason to believe that he could lead the Packers to success in the seasons to come. Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – the future is bright in Green Bay.
