Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs teammate voices strong opposition to NFL’s terrible new rules regarding Thursday Night Football

Patrick Mahomes previously voiced his disapproval of playing multiple Thursday night games, and now Justin Reid, another member of the Kansas City Chiefs, has also expressed his discontentment with the NFL’s new imposing rules. Considering how physically taxing each game usually is for a player, such protests are not unexpected.

Patrick Mahomes Leads Player Disapproval of NFL's 'TNF' Expansion

The NFL owners approved a new rule this week, the league said on Tuesday. Teams are permitted to play up to two Thursday Night Football matches each season, which seems absolutely awful considering how it could reduce player output.

The addition of Thursday night games to the flexible scheduling policy may be another new regulation that is included with this one. Though teams will be notified 15 days before the match if the game would fall under this rule.

The proposal has been brought up at the owners’ meetings, but it still has time to be approved until the May spring league meetings. Amazon seems to be getting more consideration from the NFL authorities compared to the players themselves.

What do Patrick Mahomes and his teammate have to say about the new rule?

Patrick is the first chief to speak up after learning about the new rule via his tweeter and simply adding an emoji to the report. It is obvious from his response that the QB is not at all pleased with the Thursday night change.

After the quarterback, Reid, another member of the team, tweeted his displeasure with the league’s new rule. They simply referred to this decision as “Terrible” and claimed that it does not serve the best interests of both the players and the fans.

The 26-year-old believes that the players’ safety will be compromised, and they will not be able to perform to their full potential. Additionally, the spectators who pay their hard-earned money to enter the stadium and waste their precious time watching the game will think that players are not performing in peak shape.

Justin’s words are merely the unspoken thoughts of many chiefs who, however, are unable to share them. NFL’s careless decision-making is evident in their poor judgment regarding the players’ safety. The fans were also shocked by these rules, as they expressed their anger and disagreement with them in the comment section.

The NFL should have rules that are advantageous to both the players who work hard to entertain the fans and the fans who are invested in the sport enough to keep the entire franchise afloat. We certainly hope that the NFL authority will reconsider the Thursday night rule.
