Rob Gronkowski appeared on the Up and Adams show where he discussed excessive Taylor Swift coverage during the NFL games. Gronkowski believes that the TV broadcasts have gone too far in emphasizing Taylor Swift’s presence during Chiefs games.
“Bye-bye-bye, it’s just a little bit too much,” Gronk said.
He emphasized that if the league wants to use Taylor for views then they should ask her to perform a song. He wants to enjoy more football content when he’s watching the game.
“Yes, you can show her, maybe have her perform a song now since they’re hyping her up every single week but we want more football.”
Gronkowski’s concern is that the frequent camera cuts to Taylor Swift in the stands take away from the focus on the players and the game itself. He believes that while it’s fine to show her, it shouldn’t happen during every single play.
“Yes, it’s fine that you show her, but not every single play. Show the players, show the player celebrations.”
Although Taylor Swift’s presence is considered lucky for the Chiefs and a confidence booster for Kelce, some NFL fans are now tired of watching her again and again on the screens. True NFL fans like Gronk are more interested in the game plays and players.
How many Chiefs games has Swift attended?
Taylor Swift has attended four out of the last five Kansas City Chiefs games in the 2023 season. Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September 2023, watching the Chiefs defeat the Chicago Bears from Travis Kelce’s family’s private suite.
She also attended the Chiefs vs. Jets game in New York and was shown on camera reacting throughout the game. Swift skipped one of Kelce’s away games against the Vikings but returned for the Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos in Kansas City.
She was spotted sitting in a private box next to Travis Kelce’s mother during that game, and Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, also made an appearance.
The pop icon was in the suites once again with Brittany Mahomes during the Chiefs’ home game against the Los Angeles Chargers on October 22.
It’s believed that the team’s performance seems to improve when Taylor Swift is in attendance. The Chiefs have a 4-0 record in games she attended and a 2-1 record in games she did not attend.
