Derrick Rose has decided to retire after 16 great years in the NBA. The Chicago native was the youngest player to ever win the MVP award. Since his retirement announcement, many NBA stars have expressed their feelings about him.

One of those players, Paul George, recalled in an interview how Rose welcomed him to the NBA. With Derrick’s recent retirement announcement, people are sharing that old interview clip again.

In an old episode of Podcast P with Paul George, PG-13 shared memories from his rookie year. He recalled his first playoff series when he had to guard Derrick Rose, who scored 40 points against him.

He said, “Alright, P. You got D-Rose.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what? I just started playing. Like y’all trust me guarding the MVP? So, I’m like, ‘Bet. I’ll take the challenge.”

He continued, “It was crazy matching up with him and seeing him in front of me. Cause I’m not gon’ lie, that year, bro he was untouchable. And I felt that I played good against him and I look at the box score, 40. God damn. I thought I was on his sh*t today.”

Paul George isn’t the only one; every player in the NBA has a lot of respect for Derrick Rose. On social media, this isn’t the first time they’ve shown their support. Those who played with him have always admired him.
