During an episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the Los Angeles Clippers star was asked to name his top five most talented players in the NBA. To everyone’s surprise, George selected Lonzo Ball as the most talented point guard, ahead of his younger brother LaMelo Ball.
Despite both brothers being currently injured, with LaMelo suffering a fractured ankle and Lonzo undergoing his third knee surgery last month, George confidently declared that Lonzo has more pure talent than his younger sibling.
Defending his pick, George pointed out Lonzo’s versatility on both ends of the court. “What can’t Lonzo do? He can guard, he can shoot, he can playmake, his IQ, he can rebound great for his position,” George said.
This pick might come as a shock to some, especially considering LaMelo’s impressive rookie season that earned him the 2021 Rookie of the Year award and an All-Star selection in his second year in the league. Nonetheless, George believes that Lonzo’s well-rounded skillset makes him a top talent in the NBA.

Lonzo Ball Journey to the NBA: From High School to Rising Star
Lonzo Ball, born on October 27, 1997, in Anaheim, California, is making waves as an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
His journey to the NBA started during his high school years at Chino Hills High School in 2016, where he was awarded multiple national high school player of the year honors as a senior. Ball led his team to an undefeated record and a consensus national top ranking.
He then played college basketball for one season with the UCLA Bruins, where he earned consensus first-team All-American honors and led the nation in assists. Ball also broke the UCLA record for the most assists in a season and won the Wayman Tisdale Award as the top freshman in the nation.
Selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft, Ball was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2018 after his first season with the Lakers. However, his playing time was limited by shoulder and knee injuries.
Ball was then traded to the New Orleans Pelicans at the end of his second season as part of a trade package for Anthony Davis. He played two seasons with the Pelicans before joining the Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal.
Ball’s talent and versatility on the court are undeniable. He can guard, shoot, playmake, and rebound well for his position, making him a valuable asset to any team. With his skills and determination, Lonzo Ball is poised to continue rising as a star in the NBA.
