Paul Heyman was by CM Punk’s side when he held the WWE Championship for a record-breaking 434 days. Now, Punk is back in the ring, teaming up with Heyman again to bring his charisma to the Bloodline’s story.
In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Heyman discussed Punk’s character evolution, saying, “If you had told me that in 2012 that 12 years later CM Punk would be a far more fascinating character than he is now at the height of his rebellious status, I’d say that’s just not in the cards for him.”
Heyman further confessed that their strong friendship made fans and management respect Punk as an extension of him, which created his image. He stated, “CM Punk battled against the perception that he was only a ‘Paul Heyman guy.’ He got unfortunately dragged down by that tag… That’s literally what they called him – ‘Oh yeah, the Paul Heyman guy.’“
The Hall of Famer also noted that Punk’s recent return to WWE has shown a more mature and compelling version of the character, proving that he has grown both as a performer and a person

Recently, WWE has hinted at a closer bond between Paul Heyman and CM Punk, especially with Roman Reigns absent from shows. Fans are speculating whether Heyman is conflicted about who to back.
Heyman’s reveal as the fifth member of the OG Bloodline for Survivor Series WarGames evidently delights Punk. Roman Reigns, on the other hand, appeared dissatisfied and annoyed by the revelation.
