Former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal is in a big dilemma as his father has reportedly been arrested after a shooting at his house. As per these reports, Gamebred’s father allegedly shot someone in his Miami house on May 4th 2023. Fox Sports news reporter Andy Slater broke this news on his Twitter channel and also revealed the whereabouts of Jorge Masvidal during the incident.

Apparently, this incident took place at 3:00 PM ET and the Miami-Dade police arrived at the place after some time. As per these reports, the police officers took Masvidal’s father into custody after he shot one person during an argument at his son’s place.
The victim in this argument is male and is said to have sustained two gunshots to the upper half of his body. Fortunately, the victim’s wounds are not life-threatening and he is in a stable condition and is recovering at a medical facility nearby. According to a report from MMA Junkie, the former UFC superstar is not a suspect as he was not present at the shooting.
Masvidal is currently busy promoting the Gamebred’s Bareknuckle MMA event that is all set to go down in his hometown Florida at the FLA live arena in Sunrise on May 5th. It is needless to say that his father’s arrest is a big concern as it may lead to diverting his attention from the upcoming event.

Jorge Masvidal has been in the headlines for causing havoc outside the UFC octagon. The former UFC welterweight star was in big trouble with the police officers as he was arrested after he allegedly assaulted Colby Covington outside a restaurant last year. Gamebred faced two charges and as of now, he has to stay 25 feet away from Chaos.
Interestingly, Jorge is not the only one in his family who had a run-in with the police as his father was behind bars in the past. After moving from Cuba, Masvidal Sr served as a construction worker. However, a few years later the police officers put him in jail on charges of drug trafficking and manslaughter. Papa Dukes had to serve 20-year prison sentence for his crime.
The former UFC star was just four years old when the officials arrested his father. And his mother didn’t inform him about his father going to jail until he was 14-years-old. Initially, Gamebred was unhappy with his father. But as time progressed the father-son due have forged a great bond.
