Fans of late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant have a big reason to be excited. Their idol is about to receive a grand honor. The best part is that this tribute is arranged by president Donald Trump himself.
President Trump announced that Kobe Bryant will be honored with a statue in a special garden alongside other American heroes during a Black History Month event. This comes two weeks after Trump revealed plans for a national park featuring statues of legendary Americans.
At a White House press conference, Trump named several historical figures before unexpectedly mentioning the five-time NBA champion, Bryant. The announcement was surprising since Bryant had once criticized Trump during his presidency, accusing him of creating division in 2017.
